Society has been affected us through various ways, which include the way of thinking, acting, feeling, etc. Throughout the years, many of sociologists have argued with the very complex topic, which is 'Are we free within this society?', and there have been different answers and thoughts for this question. Some people say we are free in society and some believe we are not, but my answer to this question is that nobody knows. I believe that it depends on the social structures.
Sometimes, social structures limit us to do whatever we want in order to protect whole society. For example, we don't murder or harm other people.
In a society, we can simply divide people into two groups, which are males and females. There are some differences between males and females and their freedoms. From the past, society has afforded more freedom to males. For example, until 19th century, men's choices and actions seemed to be more accepted than women's. However, in the current society, many things have been changed. Now, women have as many opportunities as men, and the society seem to be more accepting and protecting women's freedom.
I can also say that the income of each individual can affect our freedom in society. It has been universally proven that people with higher incomes are given more opportunities than people with lower incomes in the society. For instance, people with high incomes are free to choose to get more advanced education while others are not because of their insufficient earnings.
