Many sociologists has made the question of are really free within society? And my answer to that question is that we are not free because we act accordingly to sociological perspective. The first factor is that we were born and are raised to follow a certain amount of limits which we call rules or could laws and this gives us limits. Another factor is that society divides humans by gender, race, ethnicity, and others makes us believe we have to be in a certain circle. Also when it comes to those people who have more money than others believe they have more freedom because they use the money as see fittest which leads people of low and middle class to less enjoyment in society. There are various examples that prove we all act according to society rules or perspectives. An example that proves this is in the article “Are we free within society?” That they use puppets as an example saying that we respond to backstage forces which is true. Another example is when we buy clothes we first try it on see if we look good in it but eventually start to think about society’s approval and if it goes according to the rules of body shape. A last example could be that society believe that there are certain jobs that women could not accomplish but actually women could do it better but because of the norms some women are afraid to speak up even though rights for women have improved throughout time there are still some beliefs that don’t change.
