Statuses, Roles & Social Structure within Society

In this picture, we can observe a group of students playing soccer during lunchtime. The team consists of people of distinct ages and genders, also known as statuses. This shows that they have respect for everyone and do not treat someone differently due to their status. Another thing worth mentioning is that within the game, there is a set of rules that players are expected to follow in order to keep the game organized. Each player is given a different role, some as goalkeepers, others as strikers or defenders. Just as in society, people are assigned a role, and expected to act and think within the limits and points of view for that particular role. In addition, the individuals involved in the game are following a structure and working together to make the activity possible, similar to our daily lives.
